Film Technology = >_<
So, you’re out at the cinema with your loved one, munching on popcorn (literally eating money) and you’re ready for the film. You’ve found your comfy spot in the chair for the next few hours and the got your hand firmly clasped on your Coca Cola bucket. Iron Man! W00t!
Before seeing the film, I thought Iron Man was an Alien! Tony Stark. Legend. In your head you’re amazed how this guy can just lab stuff up and build it to production standard with a couple of robots who like nothing more than to spray things with the fire extinguisher. Before that, you see him blast his way out of a cave, using missile scrap! Genius. For a second you let yourself imagine yourself as Tony Stark, flying around in your somewhat kick ass suit. The technology required to build such a thing….awe inspiring. Never mind the arc reactor. ARC REACTOR!!! Suddenly you grip the end of your chewing gum ridden seat…..NO TONY, DON’T DO IT!!!! As he flies up in to the outer atmosphere, his suit ices up and begins to descent. “Oh no”. You close your eyes for a second…but it’s ok, because he’s found a way out of it. Phew. He lands, goes home and has another chinwag with Jarvis. Next up, he has to sort out this altitude issue, surely? Ah, he brings up his dream worthy monitor array and commands Jarvis to “route it through the Cisco”. Go Jarvis go and rou.….wait a second. Did you just say “route it through the Cisco?”…hang on Tony. You’ve just a next generation flying suite powered by your disco style chest piece. Surely a few FPGA’s for routing aren’t out of your reach here? At this point, the eyes wander. Dell servers I see. Disappointment is not outwardly shared with your loved one for fear of recieving berating Victor Meldrew comments, so lucky for you they’re contained here.
I have to admit I’ve really enjoyed the last three Batman films. In turn these are: Batman Begins, The Darknight and The Darknight Rises. Christian Bale plays his superfluously mumbly self, but on the whole, great films. Morgan Freeman and Michael Cain play amazing parts *nods the hat*.
Again, I incurred the Victor Meldrew comments from moaning about the usage of Dell servers. Do Dell sponsor these films? Bruce Wayne, you own an R&D department and you’re supposed to be filthy rich. Can you not build your own servers? You’ve got a jet car, a bat copter and all sorts of cool stuff. Surely a server range would be more profitable? Next time when Wayne Enterprises has a few money hiccups, go into IT hardware. You might be pleasantly surprised.
p.s. Psst, Bruce, gifts of trips in said jet car would be a good HR gimmick.
p.p.s. I know the jet car isn’t real. It actually doesn’t handle very well at all in real life.
